How We Build Shopify Stores — Our 6-Step Process
A clear, repeatable process so you always know what is happening, what we need from you, and what comes next.
Quick answer
Lazapi builds Shopify stores in six steps: discovery, strategy and sitemap, design in Figma, development on Shopify, QA and launch, then growth and support. Each step ends with something you can review and approve, and work happens on an unpublished theme or development store so your live store is never at risk.
The six steps
-
01
Discovery
We learn about your business, customers, products, competitors and goals, and review your current store or analytics if you have them.
-
02
Strategy and sitemap
A written plan: pages, features, apps, integrations, priorities, timeline and quote.
-
03
Design
Wireframes and Figma designs for mobile and desktop, reviewed with you before any code is written.
-
04
Development
Theme build, product setup, apps and integrations on an unpublished theme or development store.
-
05
QA and launch
Testing on real devices, test orders, redirects and analytics checks, then go-live.
-
06
Growth and support
Post-launch checks, reporting and an optional monthly support plan.

What we need from you
- Access to your Shopify admin (as a collaborator) and any apps involved

- Product data in a spreadsheet or your current platform
- Policy text, or details so we can draft it for your review
- Feedback on designs and previews within the agreed review windows
Process questions
How long does a Shopify project take?
It depends on scope. A store setup on an existing theme is much quicker than a custom design or a migration. You get a written timeline for each step after discovery.
Will my live store be affected while you work?
No. We work on an unpublished theme or a separate development store and share preview links. Changes go live only when you approve them.
How involved do I need to be?
Most of your time is needed at discovery, design review and final testing. In between, we send updates and ask questions as they come up.
Do you work with my existing developer or agency?
Yes. We can take on part of a project, such as design, migration or SEO, and coordinate with your team.
