Shopify Speed Optimisation — Faster Stores, Better Core Web Vitals
We find what slows your store down — theme code, apps, scripts, images and fonts — fix the biggest causes first, and show you the before-and-after results.
Quick answer
Shopify speed optimisation improves how quickly your store loads and responds, measured by Google’s Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint (good at 2.5 seconds or less), Interaction to Next Paint (200 milliseconds or less) and Cumulative Layout Shift (0.1 or less). Lazapi audits and fixes theme code, apps, scripts and images.
What usually slows a Shopify store
-
01
App scripts
Each app can add JavaScript to every page, even apps you no longer use.
-
02
Heavy images
Oversized or unoptimised images, especially in the first screen, delay the largest paint.
-
03
Third-party tags
Chat widgets, pixels and trackers compete for the browser’s attention.
-
04
Theme code
Unused sections, render-blocking CSS and inefficient Liquid add up.

Questions we hear often
Does the speed score in Shopify admin matter?
It is a useful signal but not the whole picture. It is based on lab tests, while Google’s ranking signals use real-user data from the Chrome UX Report. We report both, and focus on fixes that improve what real customers experience.
Will removing apps break my store?
Not if it is done carefully. We check what each app does, remove leftover code, and test on a duplicate theme before anything goes live.
What are good Core Web Vitals for a Shopify store?
Google rates Largest Contentful Paint of 2.5 seconds or less, Interaction to Next Paint of 200 milliseconds or less and Cumulative Layout Shift of 0.1 or less as good, measured at the 75th percentile of real visits.
How quickly will I see results?
Lab results improve as soon as fixes are published. Real-user data in Google’s reports is collected over a rolling 28-day window, so those numbers update gradually.
Do you guarantee a specific score?
No. Scores depend on your apps, content and visitors’ devices. We agree targets after the audit and report honestly on what changed.
